Some people have told me that I’m too young to set up an endowment. But at a very early age, my parents impressed upon me the importance of tzedakah and especially the Federation, both of which have continued to be priorities in my life. Since I’m confident that my family is financially secure, it seems only right to do what I can to ensure the security of my community. I hope at some point in the future, I will be able to endow more of my current giving.
Besides, I’ve always believed in “beshert.” So when a conversation about Lion of Judah Endowments coincided with sitting down with my attorney to update my will, I couldn’t help but think of Hillel and say to myself “If not now, when?” It definitely feels like the right thing to do and a good example to set for my son.
