Legacy Society & Endowment Book of Life

The Legacy Society of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland honors donors who ensure the future of our community through current or planned gifts. Membership is open to all donors, regardless of gift size.

Betty Weintraub

As a child, I remember my mother putting coins into the JNF box, telling me, my sister and brothers that there were always Jews less fortunate than we were.  That box represented our family’s commitment to community.  When I met my late husband, Hy, he, too was dedicated to the betterment of Jewish life and inspired me to always think about “giving back”– even during personal difficult economic times.  Together, we embarked on a philanthropic journey focused on improving the lives of Jewish children at home and in Israel.  It was our hope that our efforts would continue to make an impact long after we are gone.

By creating a Lion of Judah Endowment, I honor Hy’s memory with the hope that Jewish children, for generations to come, will be touched by our legacy, and that our children, and grandchildren, will be inspired to follow this path, knowing the privilege and joy that giving of our resources and time has awarded.
