Gail & Ed Weintraub

We feel privileged to be here today with one of our parents, Betty Weintraub, to share our thoughts on why we decided to make a Legacy Gift to the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. Just like this community has nurtured our Judaic commitment, it is our hope that this gift will benefit those who follow us, both our loving family and the Greater Cleveland Jewish community. Our parents inspired us through words and deeds that taking care of those less fortunate was our highest calling. Likewise, our greatest hope is that our gift can do the same for others.
For quite some time, we have had a deep concern that the next generation of Jews will accept their responsibility to financially and morally support Israel, and enhance the multitude of services that the Jewish community desperately depends upon. We are so very proud of our grandchildren who are already viewing the world through a “Jewish lens,” and through their own philan-thropy and their actions and deeds, are making the world a better place.
We hope that our gift will also provide programs to inspire other Jewish youth and convey the message that tzedakah lies at the very core of our Jewish being.
L’dor V’dor, from generation to generation. It is an honor to be inscribed in the Endowment Book of Life.
