We believe each generation stands on the shoulders of those that precede them.

Growing up in the small mid-west town of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Harriet fondly remembers sitting in a UJA meeting waiting for her parents’ name and donation to be read aloud – a common practice at the time.

Harvey grew up in the Cleveland Federation family.  After his father came home from WWII, he spent 42 years as a member of the Federation staff; ultimately reaching Associate Director and Chief Financial Officer.  Following his father’s example, Harvey spent 41 years as a Federation professional in various cities–the last 26 years at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, culminating as a Vice President.

Both of us were significantly influenced by our parents’ examples and commitment to tzedakah and Jewish continuity. It is an honor and privilege to be fortunate enough to endow our annual gifts.  As members of the Legacy Society we will continue to support the vital work of the Jewish Federation well into the future.
