Nina & Norman Wain

For us, the concept of endowing the work of the Federation for future generations came naturally. Norm’s father, an immigrant from Ukraine, met regularly in the 1940s with other emigrants from his tiny village. Norm witnessed first-hand how these people “took care of their own” by literally “passing the hat” to help those in need. In Norm’s view, the Federation is simply the modern, sophisticated version of this self-help program. Nina, who has always been concerned with the well-being of children, was a lifelong volunteer at Bellefaire Jewish Children’s Bureau. We feel that guaranteeing that the work of the Federation and its agencies continue is not an obligation, it’s a privilege.
