Renee & Kerry Chelm

Growing up, I always felt the need to bring life into balance for those less fortunate than me; to make the world around me a better place. When I chose to convert to Judaism as a mature adult, I recognized my personal philosophy in tikkun olam – the Jewish obligation to repair the world. I am proud that the Jewish people are the caretakers of the world and that we feel the same urgency that Hillel felt when he asked, “If not now, when?”
We walk in the footsteps of our ancestors. We have inherited the extraordinary world they made for us. I feel very blessed and fortunate to be able to uphold this precious tradition. It is my hope that my Lion of Judah Endowment will provide a continuous resource for future generations of our people.
