The key to Jewish continuity is relevancy; the answer to the question of why one should identify himself or herself as a Jew.  To us, that answer rests not just in the practices and icons of Judaism

(as important as those may be) but in the values that make

Judaism special.

The Jewish religion espouses one particular value, in our opinion, to a greater extent than does any other religion; and that is “giving” or “tzedakah.”

Our family is committed to fulfilling the Jewish obligation and privilege to “heal the world.”  Both as a way of expressing our family’s spirituality as well as the vehicle by which to fulfill these obligations, we have chosen to create a supporting foundation with the Jewish Community Federation.

At the same time, by directing approximately one-half of our giving to non-Jewish causes, we hope to let non-Jews know of the Jewish commitment to these values – not just for Jews, but for everyone.
